Andy Scheer

Andy is an attorney that is passionate about the rights of criminal defendants and helping guide others through their complex legal journeys. He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis; in addition, he received graduate concentration certificates in both Criminal and Civil Rights Law.

In law school, Andy interned with the Sagamore Institute and the Indiana Public Defenders Commission (now the CCCA) as a Research Associate, engaging in research and writing on criminal justice reform in Indiana. Likewise, Andy interned with the Allen County Public Defenders Office (Fort Wayne). Andy was also a member of IU’s Wrongful Conviction Clinic addressing issues of wrongful convictions, post-conviction relief, juvenile waiver, and complex criminal competency issues. Andy was also a research assistant for a law professor, helping to research, compile, and edit a groundbreaking legal textbook. In law school, Andy was also selected as a Norman Lefstein Fellow for his commitment to public defense and strong interest in criminal defense and the criminal justice system.

Andy also holds a B.A. from Huntington University (Magna Cum Laude) and completed graduate studies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Prior to his legal profession, Andy was in sales where he mastered his skills in client relationships and professional problem solving. Before that, Andy spent several years as a winemaker and a touring musician.

When Andy isn’t working, he loves spending time with his partner Margo and their adorable daughter Stevie. He loves cooking, gardening, reading, and consistently beating his high score in golf.
