Tamzin Cheshire earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. After working as a community organizer on issues related to poverty and homelessness, she returned to school to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Accelerated Career Entry Program through Drexel University’s College of Health Professions. Upon graduating, Tamzin was inducted into the Nursing Honor Society. For over ten years, Tamzin worked as a registered nurse at Hahnemann University Hospital in Pennsylvania and Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In 2014, Tamzin received a full scholarship to attend the new law school at Indiana Institute of Technology. When the law school announced it would close, Tamzin transferred and completed her law degree at the University of Toledo College of Law. Tamzin distinguished herself as a law student, making the Dean’s List and graduating with honors.
Before joining Close & Hitchcock, LLP to establish an education law practice, Tamzin worked in healthcare compliance and reviewed loan documents for the Small Business Administration. She now works to help families in Northeast Indiana who are experiencing difficulty in issues related to education, including school bullying, discrimination, discipline procedures, and special education services in addition to representing clients in court for landlord-tenant claims, expungements, specialized driving privileges, and protective order cases.
Tamzin serves as volunteer guardian ad litem for guardianship proceedings and handles a variety of cases for indigent clients through a program with Indiana Legal Services.
Tamzin is passionate about representing her clients and providing legal advice and services that match the goals and needs they believe are most important. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana and the Northern District of Indiana.
